Events FAQ For Event Organizers

How much does it cost to use Commissioned Events?

Registered users on Commissioned can launch Free Events on Commissioned without incurring any costs. If an Event Organizer would like to charge for Tickets to an Event, there are some non-refundable ticketing fees assessed at the time a ticket is purchased. You can decide whether to pass that fee onto your customers or to absorb it yourself.

What if my event is free? Am I still charged?

You are not charged for tickets if your event is free. Fees are applied when using paid tickets.

How do I get paid for tickets that were purchased?

When you set up the merchant account for your event, you will enter your bank or debit card details into Stripe. When someone buys a ticket those funds – minus collected fees, charges and refunds –  will be paid out to your Stripe connected payment method. The Commissioned Event payouts are initiated on a weekly basis.

How can I send messages to people who bought tickets for an event?

Commissioned Events has an integrated communications tool that allows you to communicate with ticket purchasers on a limited basis. Commissioned is not responsible for anything related to the communications tool, including whether messages are sent or received, or the content of messages.

You can send messages to attendees using the in-app Messages feature or externally through email or phone. When attendees register for your event they supply an email address and phone number. Access that information by opening the Attendee list from the event dashboard and tapping Generate CSV of Members. To send an in-app message, open the Attendee list, find the member, tap their name, and then tap Message.

Do I handle refunds and disputes?

Yes, you are exclusively responsible for handling all refunds and disputes with event attendees and ticket holders. Commissioned is not responsible.

Manage your tickets from your event dashboard by opening the menu and tapping Manage Orders.

Are there rules about the types of events I can sell tickets for?

Yes, and those are in our Event Organizer Terms of Use. Some of the most important requirements are that your event cannot involve illegal activities, financial schemes, gambling or offensive conduct. Your event cannot involve weapons, unless they are consistent with the theme of the event, are safely secured from unauthorized use, and are carried in accordance with applicable law.

Does Commissioned Events organize the event?

No. You are exclusively responsible for creating and organizing events, including interactions with ticket purchasers and legal compliance. Commissioned just provides you with a ticketing platform.

How can I use Commissioned Events to promote my event?
